Our Services
COUNSELLING one to one for children and adults. Anyone aged 8 or over is eligible to become a client
We provide TRAINING to organisations and individuals on a variety of subjects, including those covered in the workshops (please ask for a copy of our training portfolio)
We offer PLACEMENT OPPORTUNITIES to students training to qualify as counsellors and can contribute towards the cost of your external supervision monthly
We also offer a LIBRARY of counselling related books as a resource to help counsellors and clients
We will also act as a REFERRAL SERVICE between placements, supervisors and therapists; and the clients, students or counsellors seeking these services
All of our services are confidential except if someone is in danger
There are legal limits on confidentiality for people who are legally considered minors but we will negotiate this with you as the client and with your parent/guardian if appropriate. For more information please run a web search for “Gillick Competence”

COSTS ARE WORKED OUT DEPENDENT UPON YOUR INCOME, SO WE MAY ASK TO SEE A PAY SLIP OR SIMILAR TO EVIDENCE THE AMOUNT WE AGREE TO CHARGE YOU.
This might seem unfair but it is to help us keep providing good quality services and to cover our costs.
For example did you know that private counselling in Doncaster ranges in price from £15 to £100? So you can see that by comparison our prices are very reasonable and the clients who pay for services are subsidising those who cannot pay.
How can Open Minds help you?
We are open to anyone over 8 and wherever you are from, whatever your needs, including people with issues around anxiety, depression, relationships, sexuality, abuse, addiction, bereavement and loss
Your first step
Simply ring us on 01302 344192 or 07765 224564 for details about how to arrange an initial meeting.
What next
An initial meeting will give you an opportunity to ask questions and to begin to talk about your problems and concerns. If counselling could be of help, weekly sessions can be arranged.
Then
You will see the same counsellor every session unless you request someone else. Each session lasts 50 minutes.
Day-time and evening and weekend appointments are available.
You can end your counselling at any time but the sooner you start it the more likely it is to be of help.
