Hello and welcome to the Open Minds Counselling Service ltd. website!
We hope you find the site informative and interesting. On the site we have included information about us, when we were set up, who we are and why we do what we do.

Without the help of Doncaster Communities For Health we could not have developed into a constituted organisation in December 2007, without Key Fund Global Grants this would not have developed into employment of a Managing Director, offices, resources and incorporation in May 2008. Without SED at Doncaster DCVS we also could not have become incorporated in September 2008. And last but not least New Deal for Communities funding meant we were able to continue and expand our good work between September 2008 and March 2009.

Between April 2009 and February 2010 we didnt have any grant funding and were completely reliant upon income from clients and the organisations with whom we work, so thanks also to every client and beneficiary with whom we work.

In March 2010 we began providing training funded by Humber Learning Consortium, a grant which although small and only lasting until September 2010, massively contributed towards our survival as an organisation during this lean time for Open Minds.

WONDERFUL news came in March 2010 when Big Lottery Fund Reaching Communities granted funding to Open Minds for 4 years between May 2010 and May 2014! This will cover our employment and running costs and allow us to become eligible for contracts with other organisations, and MOST IMPORTANTLY to expand and sustain our wonderful work with clients, attendees of personal development training and trainee and volunteer counsellors.

We would also like to thank the DDPA (Doncaster Disabled People's Alliance) for help with their premises, Key Fund Enterprise Discovery for support, motivation and help accessing many resources, DCVS (Doncaster Council For Voluntary Service) and CEN (Community Empowerment Network) for information, support and guidance and support with business planning and incorporation, and NDDT (North Doncaster Development Trust) for their help through Success Doncaster and all of the above and many more for moral support!
